When I was selected to try this new Secret Clear Gel in the scent Cocoa Butter Kiss, I was pretty happy and excited because back around Xmas of 2014, I received & reviewed a similar product from Secret w/ a lavender scent and it worked well for me. So of course my first thoughts when I was chosen by BzzAgent, was "Hurray! Something I know I will like". Well sadly I was wrong...
In my last Secret Gel review I mentioned the following: "To be honest I never really tried a gel antiperspirant before and I probably would never have except I #GotItFreefromSecret and I have to say I am most likely going to be switching my old regular "never fails to leave white marks" antiperspirant and going with this new Secret Scent Expressions Clear Gel. I received the Ooh-La-La Lavender scent, which was not too over powering and there are no white marks and it lasts all day."
I've always bought the white solid deodorant but since trying the Lavender scent from before I thought I would be hooked on the Secret Clear Gel for good. But after receiving and trying this Cocoa Butter Kiss, I have to say I'm actually back to old faithful white solid.
The first turn off for me and this is just me, most people will probably not have a problem with it but I really didn't like the scent. To me it smelled like bananas. Want me to really pin point the smell? It reminded me of when I was little and I had to have the banana flavour medicine that my parents had a hell of a time trying to get into me :P Hi Mom! To this day I still hate bananas. Ok. Moving on.
As for how this held up during the day.
My work requires me to move around a lot and not even half way through my shift, I'm sweating and it would be showing :( Now I know the weather probably will make some difference since my last Secret Gel review was done in the winter and it's now Summer but this deodorant SUCKED! No matter where or what I was doing, it wouldn't do it's job. I mean, I would be sitting in an air conditioned room and I would feel sweat trickling down my arm :(
Another thing I found with this was when you put it on and didn't dry as quickly as the previous Secret Clear Gel, I reviewed & tried. And it also left your arms feeling sticky :( Another negative.
Price wise its fair, but my opinion.
Spend your money on something else because #ClearlyBetter was better in this case :(
Rating 1 (Poor) - Rating 5 (Great)
Packaging = 5 (Pretty standard. They can't really go wrong :p )
Effectiveness = 1 (Sucked)
Scent = 3 (Not to overwhelming. But smelled like bananas, which I don't like)
Price Point = 5 (Local dept. store)
