Flare Beauty Box Spring 2015 & May 2015 TopBox Reveal

Flare Beauty Box

#FLAREBEAUTYBOX
Just received my first ever beauty box from Flare, in which I purchased from TopBox for $9 + tax (free shipping).
Every month or close to every month TopBox, promotes different pre-packaged beauty boxes.
Some of which can be a bit pricey, but there were two boxes being advertised for $9, this month.

So I decided to give the Flare Fearless Beauty Box, a go.
So for nine dollars I received the following:

1.  Covergirl Coloricious Lipstick in Succulent Cherry.  Not sure if I'm gonna get a lot of wear out of this, unless we have a red lip day @ work or something :p  Retail $8.47.

Review:  I tried this color a few times hoping I would somehow be able to make it look some what presentable but
sadly this shade on my skin tone, just does not work.  The color has more orange to it than a red.  When i think of cherries I don't know, I think of red not orange.  With that said the overall feel of the lipstick on was better than most lipsticks I have tried.  I'm mostly a lip gloss kind of girl.  Lipstick just tend to dry out and leave my lips looking dry/crack.  This coloricious lip stick didn't have that dry feeling.  Now like I said, I only had it on around the house.  Like any lip stick/lip gloss,  I imagine your going to have to reapply at some point.  I don't care how well they say they will leave your lips moisturized all day.

I'm giving the Covergirl Coloricious lipsticks a thumbs up.. Just choose color(s) wisely :)

2.  Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara by LashBlast in black.  I'm usually a Maybelline mascara person when it's time to get all fancied up but going to give this a go.  Retail $6.97.

Review:  I wanted to like this and for a mascara it's okay.  If my old faithful runs out and I will then go for this but until then it's just going to be sitting and truthfully probably dry out by the time I get around to using it.  Really clumps your lashes together and you have to apply a few coats to get that black thick look. Also didn't make my lashes appear any longer than what they actually are.  I wasn't to fond over the brush either.  Nothing fancy just long & straight across.  Where as my Maybelline mascara has a smaller curved brush that helps curl/comb up through your lashes (I find).  The one could think I did like was it was really easy to remove, no scrubbing with baby wipes.

I'm giving the Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara a fail.

3.  Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash w/ Shea Butter 50mL (Travel Size Sample).  Smells pretty good, kind of like Ivory soap.

Review:  Haven't tried yet.  Waiting to finish my old body wash first.  Please check back :)

4.  Olay Fresh Effects Clear Skin Swirled Mattifier 0.5mL (2x Samples).  Claims to "instantly reduces the look of shine & redness"  Directions state: " Apply to face after using cleanser and acne treatment for a matte, fresh-faced look!  May also be used as a smoothing primer before makeup application".
Yay, we'll see.

Review:  This is going to be short.  Don't waste your money.  Didn't reduce redness and I tried it as a primer before makeup/foundation.  Didn't notice anything different than what I would if I had not used it.  I have one more
little sample to try and I'm going to apply it after a cleanse my face later tonight and see if I get a "matte, fresh-faced look".
Doubtful.

I'm giving Olay Fresh Effects Clear Skin Swirled Mattifier a fail... For now.  I'll update if anything happens to change.

5.  Herbal Essences Wild Naturals Rejuvenation Shampoo & Conditioner 100mL each.  "Moisturize your locks with Turkish Fig Essences".  "Revitalize your soul with the warm scent of Turkish fig while this life-infusing formula cleanses and deeply conditions your hair"....  Okay! Fantastic :p  Agains smells good.  So thumbs up for that at least to start.

Review:  I actually like this.  When I first seen Turkish Fig, I wasn't too sure about this.  But it does have a nice refreshing smell to them both.  This shampoo + conditioner actually came in pretty handy.  I had a little boo boo with coconut oil in my hair (too much) and I had to re wash my hair so I figured what a good time to give this a go.  I shampooed my hair twice just to be sure and I used the conditioner and left it in for 5 mins. and it got out my coconut oil problem.  I was
sure I would have to wash my hair at least 3 times like people had mentioned online.  Smell is nice and not too over powering like some other Herbal Essences shampoos.  It clean & rejuvenated my hair so all and all very good.

I'm giving Herbal Essences Wild Naturals Shampoo & Conditioner a thumbs up.

6.  Vidal Sassoon Salonish Hair Color.  Coupon for one free color product.  Retail $13.97.
Not sure if I'm going to end up using this or giving it away.  If I do decide to dye my hair, I need to
buy two more boxes since I have long hair and not entirely set on dying my whole head.  If you know me I have been one to dye my ends but it's almost a waste if I go that route, but we will see.

Review:  I actually gave this away as a gift.

7.  Free 60 day trial to Next Issue (not shown in pic.).  I have had subscription to Next Issue in the past
and I loved it.  So excited to receive this.  Note:  If I remember correctly you need to sign up with your credit card (maybe paypal is allowed) first even to access the free trial.   You can cancel anytime though.

Thanks :)
